That’s what I’m getting at though, people constantly use the word “guys” as if it is inclusive when it simply is not. I’m just suggesting that we find and try to use language that is actually inclusive, not that we’d simply like to believe is inclusive.

I just really really loathe the idea that male is neutral and female is marked/other/different. Think about it: It would be deemed ludicrous and possibly offensive if people started addressing mixed groups as “gals” (or something of that nature). Aw, yeah, sexism.

Anyway, all I’m saying is that I strongly believe that finding neutral/inclusive ways to address groups of people is important.
